Following the finale of the Arc Revo America fighting game tournament, Arc System Works announced the release date of its next title, DNF Duel. This upcoming anime fighter being co-developed by Neople, Arc System Works, and Eighting, will release on June 28, 2022. A brief trailer was also shown off following the tournament, and showcases the new character, Ghost Blade. Dungeon Fighter originally started as a 2D side-scrolling action-based MMO, but after over 15 years of operating, is just now starting to branch out into other genres such as the new fighting game and now the mobile adaptation. This version of Dungeon Fighter hopes to allow fans of the original a way to play on their mobile devices without sacrificing any of the endless depth the MMO holds. In the trailer we get to see more of Ghost Blade, the last character to be revealed before the game went dark for a couple of months. One part Vergil from Devil May Cry and one part stand user from Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, the character looks like a lot of fun. Ghost Blade seems to be able to attack in tandem with his ghost, which can only lead to some truly nasty mixups. Aside from its official announcement, Arc System Works also revealed that DNF Duel will be heavily featured in multiple competitive events throughout 2022. This includes the Arc World Tour 2022, a worldwide fighting game tournament that has a $200,000 prize pool that will be split between both DNF Duel and Guilty Gear Strive, Arc System Works’ latest game.
